The Turin Giants Name Previous Italy Manager the Experienced Gaffer

Juventus have named previous Italian national team boss Spalletti to lead the team for the remainder of the campaign.

The experienced coach takes over from his predecessor, who was let go following the loss to Lazio on Sunday.

The former boss came on board in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but exited following a seven-month stint following a string of eight matches without a victory.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June following a loss to Norway in World Cup qualifying, as Italy faced the possibility of not making a third World Cup in a row.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and lifted the Russian league trophy twice while at Zenit St Petersburg.

Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla for their 3-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday placing them seventh in the Serie A standings - trailing leaders Napoli by six points after nine matches.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
